Hard to miss upon entering this lively downtown restaurant is an actual Peterbilt semi cab built into the dining room. But don’t let that distract from the food. Thirteen-time World Pizza Champion Tony Gemignani is an icon in the pizza world. And his talents are evident through a menu featuring nearly any style you can think of: Napoletana, Romana, New York, Chicago cracker thin, California, Detroit, classic Italian, American, Sicilian and gluten-free are cooked in four ovens, at temperatures ranging from 500° to 900°.
Several of Gemignani’s award-winning pies are on the menu, including the Cal Italia (Asiago, mozzarella, gorgonzola, prosciutto, sweet fig preserves and balsamic reduction) and the New Yorker (housemade fennel sausage, pepperoni, garlic, sliced mozzarella, Romano and ricotta). Looking beyond the expertly-crafted pizzas, be sure to take notice of the French fries (offered in variations with gorgonzola, truffle, rosemary garlic and honey pancetta), the classic meatballs and the fried green beans.
