Du-Par's Restaurant and Bakery

What makes a great pancake? It may be hard to put a finger on it, but the consensus seems to be that the folks at Du-Par’s Restaurant and Bakery have the formula down.

Founded in Los Angeles, the restaurant has been known for the legendary buttermilk hotcakes since 1938. Light, fluffy and buttery -- pouring hot maple syrup onto these hotcakes (topped with more butter) is a party in your mouth.

Originally located Downtown, the local Du-Par’s moved to the northwest in the Suncoast Hotel and Casino about five years ago. Open 24/7, the menu is traditional American comfort food for breakfast, lunch and brunch, with a bakery featuring decadent pastries (especially the fresh fruit pies). Mid-day meals (or brunch) feature pasta, homemade soups and burgers. Juices, gravies and salad dressings are prepared in-house.

When Chris Decker (managing partner of Metro Pizza) yearns for breakfast, he recommends Du-Par’s. A night owl, Arlene Wszalek (SVP, Client Solutions & Strategic Consulting), suggests the restaurant for late-night cravings.
