Pizza Rock’s is a consensus pick in the pizza category, with nods from nine of those surveyed including food blogger/master BBQ judge Mercy Baron. (It also managed to score some votes in the categories of Celebrity Chef, Cheap Eats and Italian.) Its suburban outpost is located just off the Green Valley Ranch casino floor. Once inside you can’t miss the full-size 1964 Peterbilt long-haul truck extending from the dining room to the patio filled with retro beer boxes, some dating to the 1950s.
13-time World Pizza Champion Tony Gemignani is an icon in the pizza world and his talents are evident in the multiple styles represented here: Napoletana, Romana, New York, Chicago cracker thin, California, Detroit, classic Italian, American, Sicilian and gluten-free—cooked on nine ovens fired at temperatures ranging from 500° to 900°. Several of his award-winning pies appear on the menu, like the International Pizza Championships Gold Cup winning La Regina (soppressata, prosciutto di Parma, arugula and Parmigiano-Reggiano) and World Pizza Cup winner Margherita (San Marzano tomato, mozzarella fior di latte, basil, EVOO and sea salt).
Complementing the world-class pizza is an extensive craft beer menu with more than 100 brews to choose from, including several locals.
