Rare Society
$ $ $Chef Brad Wise built his Rare Society steakhouse concept into a successful California chain by leaning into a classic vibe reminiscent of old Vegas. And yet, for a long time, he never thought to open one in our valley. Like so many others, he saw the city as little more than neon and tourists, with no real neighborhoods. Then he found the UnCommons development in the Southwest Valley, where locals and families actually hang out.
The restaurant leans heavily into live-fire cooking, an in-house dry-aging program, sustainably sourced seafood, and a progressive cocktail program. The menu includes raw bar selections, fried chicken, pork, and, as you’d expect, a nice selection of steak and sides. If you can’t decide on a cut, order one of the signature steak platters that arrives on a spinning Lazy Susan, packed with an assortment of cuts—allowing the entire party to sample a variety of flavors and sauces rather than committing to a single steak. And save room for dessert, which might include a cereal-inspired ice cream flavor or some local twist.
While Rare Society has only been operating since the summer of 2025, it’s already become a locals’ favorite.
