The Silver Stamp

This one-of-a-kind bar in the Gateway District (just a block from the Arts District) is the brainchild of Rose Signor and Andrew Smith, beloved longtime members of the local beer community.

Upon entering you’ll feel like you’ve entered the 1970s. You can’t miss the wall of old beer cans (Rose’s personal collection), and the old school vibe continues with vintage beer memorabilia, various beer signs and logoed neon lights. Christmas lights, a 1970s era TV, wood paneling and brick walls also contribute to the kitschy (in a good way!) atmosphere.

Beyond the unique décor, the beer list is equally distinctive -- based in part on observations of beer culture Andrew and Rose picked up during nine months traveling throughout the US, Iceland, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Morocco. And you’ll find beer from around the world, with an emphasis on excellence and uniqueness. There are some beers here that you won’t find anywhere else in town, such as Aecht Schlenkerla Fastenbier Rauchbier and Dupont Avec Les Bon Voeux Saison. There are also about 50 cans and bottles of equally stellar brews, and always a handful of local beers.
