Cabo Wabo Cantina
$ $It would be easy to dismiss Cabo Wabo as just another tourist-focused theme restaurant, or a rock star vanity project designed to promote owner Sammy Hagar’s lines of tequila and rum. But Hagar is a serious foodie who has written his own cookbook, made his share of food TV, and partied with some of the world’s top chefs.
Locally, he’s partnered with a top F&B team to offer food that’s considerably better than many would expect. Think of it as tourist-friendly, Mexican-themed bar food, designed to complement the party atmosphere that Hagar has spent a lifetime cultivating through his music, booze, clubs and restaurants.
But it’s the Strip location, and elevated outdoor patio, that scored Cabo Wabo a place on this list as one of our favorite spots for people-watching.
“You’ll see all kinds of ‘costumes,’ and tourists from all over the world, from an elevated view,” promises Instagrammer Lindsay Stewart (@thelasvegasfoodie). “It’s the cheapest entertainment on the Strip if you’re lucky enough to get a seat.”
